1 in 5 youth struggle with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, substance misuse and suicidal ideation. Increasing your knowledge basics in through Youth Mental Health First Aid could be make all the difference in assisting youth people.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification Training is an eight-hour interactive public education awareness program designed to:

(1) improve participant knowledge

(2) modify attitudes and perceptions about mental health and related issues

(3) train participants how to respond when a young person is experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, suicidal tendencies, substance abuse disorders

(4) offer support to a young person who appears to be in emotional distress.

The curriculum used will be the Youth Mental Health First Aid USA Certification program is the only evidence-based program recognized in the US for mental health challenges of youth.

The facilitator will be Dr. Astril Webb, M.D., a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid USA Instructor who has experience with youth of various cultural and diverse populations within the healthcare system and general community.

At the conclusion of the eight-hour course, each participant will receive a THREE YEAR certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid USA recognized by The National Council on Behavioral Health in the state of Maryland, USA.
