About The Event
ADULT Mental Health First Aid Certification Training is an 8 Hour interactive Public Education Awareness Program designed to
(1) improve participant knowledge
(2) modify attitudes and perceptions about mental health and related issues
(3) train participants how to respond when a person is experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorder, psychosis, suicidal tendencies or substance use disorder.
(4) offer support to any person who appears to be in emotional distress.
The curriculum used will be the Adult Mental Health First Aid USA Certification program is the only evidence-based program recognized in the US for mental health challenges of youth.
The event is hosted by Melwood Church is the Nazarene and the facilitation is through Healthy Kinder International led by Dr. Astril Webb, certified Adult Mental Health First Aid USA Instructor who has experience with adults of various cultural and diverse populations within the healthcare system and general community.
At the conclusion of the eight-hour course, which you will complete over One 8 hour day, each participant will receive a THREE YEAR certification in Adult Mental Health First Aid USA recognized by The National Council on Behavioral Health in the state of Maryland, USA.
